as an International Choreographer

Leïla Da Rocha has been studying the history of sacred dances for many years. She travelled around the world in order to understand and absorb the origins of this art, which is so close to her heart. In addition to the mastery of sacred dances going back to millennial tradition, she also trained in the complex techniques of Martha Graham, a key figure in contemporary dance. In 1998, she created her very first ballet “Cadence Couleur” and founded her dance school the following year. Since then, she has added more than eighty ballets to her repertory as an International Choreographer and is distinguished by her unique artistic writing. In December 2014, Leïla was a guest choreographer at the prestigious Alvin Ailey School in New York and in October 2016 presented a ballet for Company Ailey 2: MEIKA, in Kansas City Leïla Da Rocha was recognised in October 2015 by Mr. Ban Ki Moon Secretary General of the United Nations in New York, who validates and fully supports her actions. In 2017 she opened in partnership with Patrick Dupont the Leïla Da Rocha and Patrick Dupond International Dance Academy in Bordeaux, which carries the noble project of welcoming young people without discrimination, around the values of peace, generosity and humanity. Dancers from around the world are selected on the basis of their talent and trained to join the greatest ballet companies in the world. She constantly expands her repertory and creates ballets for events intended to promote and disseminate the know-how of teachers and students, as well as the values on which the Academy was founded.

After entrusting Leïla with the mission of continuing their project into the future, Patrick Dupond passed on to spirit on March 5, 2021.

To infinity, the strength of their love will carry her and lead the Junior Ballet and the Company into the light of their star.
